As part of the Annual book project the students of Singapore International School in Mumbai write poetries and short stories on various topics. Some topics are encouraged in classroom work on the latest scenarios or hobbies. We were assigned the task to develop a visual narrative for each of the original works by students. Some languages that were explored were English, Hindi and French. Visuals add a definite narrative to text of any sort by completing the loop of imagination. The illustration was made for a text written by a Grade Four student which speaks about a old person who was modern in his thoughts and a guiding light for many around in his time and beyond. We were inspired by the old stories illustration style and made it feel fresh with nice sophisticated colours.
